SMS continues to support a major national oil company in their well testing activities offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. In the most recent project, SMS installed an intrusive sand erosion probe and data transmitter to facilitate erosion data acquisition, analysis, and hourly monitoring reports. The sand and solids erosion monitoring activities for the well took over five days with no indication of severe metal loss, which was recorded at 0.0025728mm or 2.19% of the total probe span.

With the absence of sand filter pots and acoustic sand detectors, intrusive erosion probe systems is the best option to provide crucial information that can help validate the severity of your sanding problems and generate mitigation plans.
