Acoustic Sand Monitoring

OVERVIEW

Acoustic Sand Monitoring (ASM) is a non-intrusive solution for detecting and managing sand production in real-time. As sand particles travel with process gas/liquid, they impact the pipe wall due to inertia at the bends, generating high-frequency acoustic signals. Externally clamped EEx rated sensors capture these signals, and transmit them back to the client control system, enabling operators to accurately assess sand severity and take proactive measures for asset protection and production optimisation.

With real-time sand data, operators can make timely adjustments to production rates, ensuring maximum efficiency without exceeding allowable sand rates.
